The Sixteen male fashion faux pas that each man has to recognize
By: socialpicard Why should you be wary of the way you look?
There are an abundance of reasons! Looking the part plays a starring part in many aspects of your life story. Think about your work, your love life and your day to day activities.
It's all about perception, I've seen many workers get promoted just due to the fact that they have constantly looked certified. Maybe being perceived as certified didn't get them the job but I'm sure it got them the chance for a better opportunity! Most women also love a man who knows how to dress, it makes them believe their man is assured and settled. People's interpretation is key in day to day activities and the way you dress up has a large effect on it.
It's a true fact that it takes only 30 seconds for someone to decide themselves on what they judge you. Envision if you look like a clown? I'm certain you get the notion.
So why not simply go ahead and take charge, move in the right direction simply by looking great. It might open a few doors manyweren't expecting.
Here is a list of tips to help you and fashion mistakes to avoid!
- Too much jewelry. Put the jewelry away P. Diddy or should we call you Puff Daddy? If you want to wear jewelry, opt for a classy pair of designer cufflinks.
- The Button-Down collar dress shirt is simply not acceptable for dressy formal wear nor with a double-breasted suit. That's because even though it's now a daytime business classic, it was originally a sport shirt worn by polo players.
- Socks should match your pants. Easy as 1, 2, 3.
- Chunky Shoes. Lose them, the Axel Rose era is over.
- Never wear both a belt and suspenders. The combination makes you appear less confident - you big wuss.
- Belts should match your shoes.
- Ties should reach your belt line. This is simply the rule. A short tie makes you look like a dufus.
- Clashing or too many colors. Do you really want to look like a gay pride flag? Stick to complementary colors (those opposite from each other on the color wheel) or colors from the same pallet.
- Comb-overs. These shout insecurity. Shave it, lose it or cover it.
- Ponytails. You're not the rock star of your office. Spend the 20$ for a haircut, you can afford it.
- Properly knotted ties have a "dimple" under the knot. Clips and tacks are out of date.
- Never wear a short sleeve shirt with a tie. Actually, never wear a short sleeve shirt period. Short sleeve shirts are perceived to be worn only by lower class people. You can wear one if you aspire to be a McDonald's manager, not if you want to project a professional image.
- Wear the right size pants ok? Pants should be long enough to cover your socks, and socks should cover your shins even when you cross you legs. Pants are long enough if they have a slight break in the front. Pleats and cuffs are traditional and functional. Pleats let you sit down comfortably and cuffs add weight to the bottoms allowing for proper drape.
- Your shoes should be clean, shined, repaired and appropriate for the occasion. If you are wearing a suit, wear lace-up shoes. Don't forget to keep shoetrees in your shoes when you're not wearing them.
- Socks with Sandals. Even if you live in Maine, don't do it - you'll look like a schmuck.
- Backpacks. OK, maybe this is just a minor mistake, but you're trying to climb the corporate ladder, not hike up a mountain.
